  What do you think of the A font in the signboad of "Watchtower Bible School of Gilead"?

  first of all, i'm not a conspiracy chaser.

  personally, i've related with mason borothers alot and confirmed that jw.org is no more related with freemason after russsel who was never a member of freemasonry.. one of my friends again raised the questioning link between jw and freemason with the above picture.

  what would the outcome be among people at this site if we were able to conduct a poll on belief in evolution or in creation?.

  what would the outcome be if at the same time we asked for religious affiliation (including formal, informal, or none)?

  What about a different kind of creationism Vidiot? All the terrifying sea creatures, nasty blood suckers and horrible parasites don't have to be made by a "loving" creator. Just creator/creators. For whatever reason.

  People themselves make up horrifying creatures and monsters just as bad or as worse. Yes of course they haven't made a real world but it does show the possibility of what something else could consider as part of a creation.

  Just because most of the religions paint a "god" as being loving and perfect, it doesn't mean the "entities" are.

  Find a group that has the same hobbies as you or if you don't have a hobby, find one. Meetups or something similar will give you an opportunity to find others that enjoy the same thing as you.

  Not everyone in the world is as evil or bad as JW land teaches. But you do have to be discerning.

  Involved(ish) with a JW Man.

  i know there are several posts about witnesses and non-witnesses in regards to relationships.

  i couldn’t find anything specifically that spoke to me, so i would love some third-party advice and thoughts.. i have never been someone to pursue a stranger from the internet.

  earlier this year, i became friends with someone on a video game.

  From my own experience of being the Jw and liking a guy who wasn't a Jw. He was a great guy in every way. I was raised a Jw by a mom who wasn't good at it but still dutifully took all the kids to meetings. I wasn't a complete JW because I had problems with the religion and I was "out" of the religion for several years.

  But at a certain part when I became really attached to him, I also started backing off because he didn't believe in the bible. I let him go and he became the biggest regret of my life.

  The thing with born in Jw's, is even if they are lax in the religion - it doesn't go out of them until they really see that it isn't the truth. Until then, they will try to get you to join because it means your eternal life. In subtle and big ways they will encourage you.

  On the other hand

  If the family is half baked in the truth and just slides along in meetings and such, they will bend the rules for themselves. But they will still have rules. And that might cause a low grade irritation and friction between you and the family including prospective husband.

  Everyone is different and he might be a 22 mature person but .... he's playing games on the internet. Is this a first shooter game? A violent game? That's a big no no in JW land. So he is really not living a JW clean life.

  Life is complicated and this will certainly be.

  yesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.

  he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.

  (funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.

  Do you think the Elders have been primed to warn the congregation like that, though? Makes you wonder.....

  My brother in law, who was an elder when the Dateline episode on JW child abuse came out, said the WT instructed them to tell the congregation not to watch it.

  I would have to say, just being with my grandma. She was the nicest person in the world and had my sense of humor. She had gotten polio as a young adult and so had to use a crutch on one side to get around on. I helped in the garden and got to spend at least 2 weeks in the summer at her house. When I was older, she told me that one summer she had asked me to plant pole beans. So I wanted my grandma to have a lot because she liked them so much and planted too many in the row. She saw this and asked for me to take some out. "Oh no grandma, I can't" I said "They're alive!" So she didn't say anything and waited until I was taking a nap and took some out.

  I miss her so much.

  there was a time when the society was very skeptical about the internet and the so-called lies and apostate information that was out there.

  it sort of was something to be avoided.

  over the past ten years, however, it seems they have taken to it with a passion.

  That could very well be true. But the other purpose of having people go to the internet, is to protect the witnesses at the door from having to think about an answer. Just present and run. No entanglements that may cause doubts or concerns.

  What happens after the End from teachings of Main stream Churches and teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses

  14 and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.. only one teaching will lead to salvation and the other one will lead to death forever.

  both teachings will be from verses in nwt and mainstream translation of christendom to compare both,before starting the reason both translations is the translators in many cases slanted the text to support the believe of that time,for example :.

  Just googling "the best Translated Bible" comes up with many blogs, recommendations etc. On the few that I looked, none had the JW bible.

  Are you saying you believe that the JW's have the Truth? I can't tell by your post. You seem to say they do, but then highlight something they've got no answer for.

  Anyway, they used to have a very thick green bible. It had a reference for almost every thought or subject. Then the next bible was very slim in comparison because it had less cross references. I don't have my old burgundy bible out but it had a fairly big amount of references. Compare it to the "silver sword" and you will find that there is even less. Less is more I guess in the thinking of the GB. No more pesky time wasters of looking into cross references that might illuminate some flaws in their doctrines.

  Who has it right? Anyone who is making money because religion is a good business. Their right is right with their believers and that is all that matters.

  Let's see - JW's hid in a back room before the storm troopers broke in. Then they huddled in a basement. Others stood around in a field waiting for God. Now they are in the attic. Still trying to find the perfect place to hide? Soon it will be in a bathroom at the courthouse when they get hauled in for hiding predators.

  The WT wants to make sure that they don't feel safe anywhere. Imagine what effect this has on children.

  The TV censorship on Apostate programs, may well spill over into regular watching too. Some JW's will be super strict about any TV. Others will shrug their shoulders and watch every regular show. Maybe the WT hopes to cut down how much children watch of regular tv and direct them to only watch WT shows.
